26: Osteria dei Càtari (review)

Gnocchi, Monforte d’Alba, Italy

Favourite dish in favourite restaurant with favourite company. Low res mobile pic, ups, however I really wanted to share this restaurant – go if you ever visit Monforte! We’ve been a couple of times now, and love the food, the atmosphere (make sure you sit outside), and the staff are very friendly. Local cuisine with local wines, delicious. Make sure to book though, they are busy!

49: the restaurant by the lake (review)

Zuppa con ceci – the best I haver had!

Sorry for the bad mobile shots, for some reason I at this point forgot we had a camera.. img_3716

My love found this really nice place just down to a small a bit secluded lake in the mountains. The food was excellent – they are known for their fish which they catch fresh from the lake. It is more of a fine-dining place and the prices are in the higher range, but still Italy-reasonable. Go try!

68: the best calamari? (review)

Calamari! Lugo, Spain

Almost, but definitely one of the best calamari I ever had! Such an amazing, probably authentic, Spanish 2 hour long lunch with numerous absolutely delicious dishes and a gran finale with liquor at 15.30. I was unfortunately so breath-taken by this first dish that the rest of the pictures either are not existing or too bad to be published 😉

Pizzbar (I think), Lugo. It does not look special at all from the outside, but the food was amazing (as you perhaps recon from above), the staff was super friendly and the prices were even student friendly.

82: Review: Agriturismo La Gavina

La Gavina, Monteriggioni, Siena
Breakfast room
La prima colazione

A friend of me recommended Agriturismo La Gavina and it was just as good as we hoped for! Emiliano and his family were warm and welcoming and helped us with things to do and see, recommendations for restaurants etc. We had dinner with them several times during the week and it was so good! Emiliano is a great chef and it was so cosy to dine outside in the Tuscans evenings. The food was authentic and well prepared, and it was actually a great way to get introduced to the real italian cousine (sorry, Tuscan cousine). We have discussed so many times to go back, perhaps next year!
