This time I did some research about where to get amazing gelato in Firenze, with special attention payed to those serving non-diary gelato. One of these places can be found just a few minutes walk from Palazzo Pitti: Gelateria della Passera. Delicious award-winning homemade gelato. Must try!
We were seriously too late about booking a hotel in Milano for our stay during the Expo. We ended up going for Bel Sit, which was located reasonably close to the Expo area, in what seemed to be a somewhat dodgy neighbourhood. The room as, functional, and since we were literally dead from walking around at the Expo for an entire day, it served its function. The coffee was great though, as always in Italy 🙂
A short stopover before heading towards Milano for Expo. Nice and clean hotel, great value for money. The location was not that interesting but perfect as a base for day trips in the area. Great coffee as always in Italy 🙂
Tea Time! What to do after having bubbly on the beach? Afternoon tea! Also a must for me when I’m in England. My friend knew this cosy place called The Tea Party in Lee-on-the-Solent where we got a super nice afternoon tea.
Favourite dish in favourite restaurant with favourite company. Low res mobile pic, ups, however I really wanted to share this restaurant – go if you ever visit Monforte! We’ve been a couple of times now, and love the food, the atmosphere (make sure you sit outside), and the staff are very friendly. Local cuisine with local wines, delicious. Make sure to book though, they are busy!
Simple and authentic (I think), delicious and nice atmosphere! They have an outdoor dining space, super relaxed and nice with the open air above you. Well worth a try if ever in La Morra! We have been again 🙂
Sorry for the bad mobile shots, for some reason I at this point forgot we had a camera..
My love found this really nice place just down to a small a bit secluded lake in the mountains. The food was excellent – they are known for their fish which they catch fresh from the lake. It is more of a fine-dining place and the prices are in the higher range, but still Italy-reasonable. Go try!
Ristorante Al Lago Ghedina, Cortina d’Ampezzo, BL Italy
Almost, but definitely one of the best calamari I ever had! Such an amazing, probably authentic, Spanish 2 hour long lunch with numerous absolutely delicious dishes and a gran finale with liquor at 15.30. I was unfortunately so breath-taken by this first dish that the rest of the pictures either are not existing or too bad to be published 😉
Pizzbar (I think), Lugo. It does not look special at all from the outside, but the food was amazing (as you perhaps recon from above), the staff was super friendly and the prices were even student friendly.
